Kaliszanka

This Polish food brand is currently part of the Jutrzenka consortium. Its full name is the Kaliszanka Confectionery Factory. The history of the plant dates back to 1892, when Kazimierz Mystkowski founded a company called the Parowa Fabryka Pierników i Biszkoptów (Steamed Gingerbread and Biscuit Factory) in Kalisz. During the interwar period, it was one of the most popular confectionery producers in Poland. Its high-quality products were also popular abroad, as were other Polish sweets. The company did very well despite the economic crisis of the 1930s, continuing to expand. During World War II, production was temporarily suspended.

In 1945, the company was nationalized and received its current name. In 1992, it was privatized, and since 2005, it has belonged to the Jutrzenka capital group. Kaliszanka's main products are sweets, mainly wafers, gingerbread, biscuits and cakes.

The flagship product is Grześki wafers, available in the following flavors:

• classic (chocolate)
• milky
• toffee
• nutty

Kaliszanka's share of chocolate wafer production in Poland is a staggering 30% of the entire market. Grześki is also a well-known brand in Europe. It is available abroad and is sold by Polish shops and some chains, such as Tesco. We are very pleased that Wabar also exports them abroad.
